│ This is a VENDINFO Product Information Record │
│ │
│ This record is a means of conveying information about a software │
│ product from the author to distributors and users. It contains a │
│ normal, "human-readable" section (you're reading it now), followed │
│ by a compressed data record. The data record contains a great │
│ deal of information in a form useable by automated tools. This │
│ allows BBSes, disk vendors, etc. to test automatically for │
│ permission to distribute, and to automatically extract product │
│ information for use in BBS files databases, vendor catalogs, etc. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO file standard is published and is freely useable. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO toolset includes a free end-user viewer, processing │
│ tools for use by distributors (BBSes, shareware disk vendors, │
│ etc.), and the editor used by author/publishers to produce these │
│ records. These tools are either free or very-low cost shareware. │

OBJECTIVES MANAGER WORKBOOK is the software for you.
The OBJECTIVES MANAGER WORKBOOK for EXCEL 5.0 is a shareware program. It

program, and wish to continue using it after the evaluation period, you

===== Installation =====================================
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The installation procedure for the OBJECTIVES MANAGER WORKBOOK for
EXCEL 5.0 is quite simple. The package includes a program,
"OBMAN106.EXE", which contains the entire software in compressed form.
You will need less than 1 megabyte of available disk space on the hard
drive on which you plan to install the OBJECTIVES MANAGER WORKBOOK.
The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received the
software.
INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE FROM A DISKETTE OR CDROM
To install the software, you need to perform the following steps.
- Place the distribution diskette or CDROM in the appropriate device
drive.
- Select a temporary subdirectory on your hard drive to hold the
intermediate files. This could be C:\TEMP for example. Select this
subdirectory with the change directory command
cd C:\TEMP
- Copy the file "OBMAN106.EXE" to the temporary subdirectory from the
distribution medium and execute it by typing the file name "OBMAN106".
The files you need will be extracted. Self extraction utility LHA SFX
Copyright 1991 Yoshi.
- You will need to copy the file OBJMAN.XLS to the subdirectory in
which you keep your EXCEL 5.0 workbooks. This is usually C:\EXCEL but
it could be different on your system.
- You will need to copy the file OBJMAN.HLP to the subdirectory in
which Windows Help files are kept. It is usually sufficient to copy
these files to the Windows root subdirectory. This subdirectory is
usually named C:\WINDOWS but it could be different on your system.
- Any other files are text or document files that you should read. They
will contain important information about the software. You may want to
copy some of them to the printer after you have read them.
INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
If you downloaded the OBJECTIVES MANAGER Workbook from a BBS (or
received it in the form of archive files from some other source), you
will need to perform the following steps.
- Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary directory
on your hard drive. The procedure for doing this varies, depending on
the form in which you received the package. In all likelihood, the
fact that you are reading this text means that you already have the
necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step. If not, you should
be able to obtain directions for this from the same source from which
you received the package.
- Locate "OBMAN106.EXE" and follow the steps described above.
YOU'RE READY TO GO
On some distribution media, the software may be available in
uncompressed form. In that case, all of the OBJMAN files will be
immediately available for copying and running.
Once you've completed the installation, you are ready to start using the
OBJECTIVES MANAGER WORKBOOK. Run EXCEL 5.0 from Windows and load the
program "OBJMAN.XLS". From the "Objectives" menu item, select the
"Help" item. The on-line help will lead you through the organization
and operation of the software. We hope you enjoy the program.
